Do you remember being 17? In certain ways I feel stuck where I am. The future is uncertain, the past is frozen. Dreams and daydreams often seem like the only chance to escape or experiment.
Image 5 was taken significantly before most of the images you see. In the first shoot for this concentration, I posed the model in front of a mirrored elevator, which combined the red and blue flashes to create a pinkish hue on the model’s skin. This image served as inspiration for the rest of my concentration in terms of color scheme and focus on interesting lightplay. Images 1 and 4 are still lifes that help to balance out this portrait-focused concentration. Image 1 serves as both a title and an introductory piece that leads the viewer into the rest of the pieces. Lastly, images 2, 7, and 12 are all shot with a long exposure with multicolor flashes that were set off at different times. This effect creates dramatic and dreamlike portraiture that fits well with my overall concentration theme.
