Response 1:
Societys image of perfect is impossible. From how one should act or look; to what they are interested in and their emotions, society tells us what is wrong or right. However, most of the time we let society control us. We conform to these standards that society places on us, allowing us to be buried under our own insecurities. My goal for this portfolio was to challenge and display these stereotypes. I focused on elevating my images through texture, making them 3-dimensional.
Response 2:
Images 1-3 display the images from a shoot highlighting stretchmarks. Originally vaseline was painted on the models body and glitter was added. I began revising this work by experimenting with mod podge. Stretchmarks and underwear were painted over on prints and covered with glitter and lace. Images 10-12 experiment with a floral bouquet creating various images, with diverse meanings. The bouquet was layered over a print, giving the final image texture. When the bouquet dried out, the flowers were used again. Now they were used in the background of a print creating a new image.
