How can I capture fleeting moments and genuine interactions from around the world in one snap of my camera? I attempted to capture decisive moments unique to disparate regions around the world. I wanted to do this by not just waiting for the perfect lighting or visuals but by capturing each unique tradition, emotion, or emotional interactional of the subjects in my photos. With each image, I tried my best to create my own emotional connection with the subject in order to form a better understanding of them and their culture.
For image 10, it took multiple tries to capture this decisive moment in time because the sunset and moving plane made it hard to set the perfect ISO and shutter speed. I eventually adjusted these settings to shoot a photo which included all of the genuine, little moments happening at the same time in Atrani. For images 14 and 15, I struggled to flatten and paste my photos onto the old globe. I made revisions by sanding down the bumpy regions of the globe, by using printer paper instead of photo paper so it would lay flat, and by experimenting with ways of spreading the Mod Podge.
