To photograph stars you will need a couple materials
A DSLR camera
A Canon EFS 18-55mm lens
A Tripod
Next set up your camera with these settings.
Put camera in manual
Put ISO at 1600
Put your camera at the lowest aperture Ex.(f3.5)
Set shutter speed range of 25'‘ to 30’’
Put camera on a continuous timer to take multiple shots.
Follow the steps below
After you have your camera set up with the right settings attach it to the tripod.
Find an area outside with little to no light.
Keep image stabilization on, but turn autofocus off
Take sample photos until you get the focus right.
Leave the camera in that spot for around 5 minutes with continuous shooting on.

This image was a failure because the sky was out of focus. I used trial and error to get the perfect photo and this was one of the trials.
