Feather to fire,
fire to blood,
blood to bone,
bone to marrow,
marrow to ashes,
ashes to snow.

In order to complete this series of long exposure photographs, I traveled around the world. From the riverside and forest of Nanjing, a historical small city in my hometown, to the big theaters in both China and America, and Shanghai which has beautiful city lights at night. With my Canon 6D camera and tripod, after finding the best position of photo taking, I take ten seconds to a minute to create a long exposure photograph, which would be able to record the whole movement of the object. For instance, picture 1 was taken at the riverside while a boat with decoration lights was passing by. For the objects that were initially motionless, I chose to change the zooming distance during the exposure to create the sense of motion, such as picture 3. Besides simply using the long exposure technique, I also incorporated double exposure into my works. Picture 2 serves as an example as it includes two separate exposures: a long exposure of ten seconds and another instant shot.
