We are an accumulation of our stories. I wanted to be able to understand what makes up a person’s identity. Through this exploration, I was able to further understand the physical and emotional aspects of what makes us human. Humans are defined by our identities, a broad spectrum that is developed in various ways. Our roots and upbringings develop the basic concept of our identity. One of the most significant parts of this project was exploring my Mexican heritage as seen in image 2 and process slide 8 by using traditions as a means to express heritage. Struggles and obstacles that we come across also impact our identity. People’s judgment can impact the way in which we view ourselves. In image 6 I portrayed the idea of double face and prejudice. Those who judge usually don’t know the person well, because no one knows you better than yourself. This can lead to the development of insecurities, which is shown in image 7, reflecting the model’s biggest insecurity to show how there is beauty behind flaws. Additionally, our thoughts and ideas, which define us, are kept and created within our minds. We develop as individuals through our experiences which become the stories that define us
