When traveling to Cuba, I began to take up close photos of the everyday lives of the people and city life in Cuba. I took a wide variety of photos that express the Cuban Culture. In my first image, I showed the facial expressions of two men on a side street with a Spanish message written across the sign beside them. This raw and natural image was taken in hope to convey the lives of the people in Cuba. In my second image, I captured a photo of a young girl in a small village that I visited. This portrait is a tight shot which shows the girl’s emotion and innocence. The vibrance of her yellow shirt contrasted with the dark and blurred background makes her stand out compared to the rest of the image. Finally, in my fifth image, I captured a vibrant shot of the Malecón, which is a famous attraction in Cuba. The waves crashing up against the seawall apply definition and texture, and the rays of sun coming out of the clouds bring light and depth into the image, as well. Throughout all of the images in my concentration, I capture a variety of emotions throughout the beautiful scenery of Cuba.
