Life is more beautiful with color. Colors can be a symbol for ideas and emotions. For my sustained investigation, I decided to focus on incorporating colors that my friends think represents themselves the most. They would choose colors that they think represented themselves the best. Some of my friends chose red for passion, blue for tranquility, orange for cheerfulness, purple for secretive, while others chose a mixture of the different colors. I hope that these photos would help the viewers to get to know the my friends a bit more even if they do not have any interactions with my friends.
I began my sustained investigation with painting with light using polaroids as a medium. Images 1-4 showed the motions of the colors. However, the motions distracted the representation of the colors. I then chose to work with studio lights as seen in images 6-15. The studio lights better emphasized the colors and why the colors were chosen. I decided to finish my sustained investigation with self portraits for images 14-15 in order to share a little bit about me with the viewers. In image 15, the colors were. chosen to represent the contrasting characteristics of tranquility and anxiety.
